TAGAYTAY CITY - WEEKEND AND SUMMER GET AWAY FROM MANILA

Located just an hour drive from Manila, Tagaytay becomes a popular destination during weekend and summer.

Because of the cold weather and beautiful taal volcano lake scenery makes this city a popular weekend getaway.

Here are the list of my favorite activities in Tagaytay.

#1 - Taal Lake and Volcano

It's a natural scenery a volcano in the middle of a lake.

#2 Bulalo - Pinoy food
Bulalo is a delicious soup beef dish from the Philippines. It is a soup that is made by cooking meat shanks and marrow bones until the collagen and fat has dissolved into the acceptable softness and easy to chew. Bulalo is popular in Tagaytay because of its hot soup, beef meat all came from Batangas farm.

#3 Sky ranch

Sky Ranch is a carnival in Aguindaldo Roadway, Tagaytay City which opened in public 2013. It was theme park found inside Sky Farm, a property was possessed by SM company.

#1 - Hiking - easy trail

An average of 2 to 3 hours spend on walking for the easy trail to reach the summit.

#2 Site seeing
Beautiful scenery from the Pico de Loro summit

#3 Rappelling - Monolith rock
Bring your own rappelling gears and someone who knows well with this activity

#4  Camping

We spend a night at the base camp, we enjoy drinking at night and have a delicious breakfast in the morning.

#5 Jump shot - beautiful background
Enjoy photography with different style, like this one using the 30fps of my gopro to captured a nice jumpshot pic with the beautiful bacgkground of Pico de Loro and hills.

#6 Side trip - Katungkulan beach

After hiking take a swim on this clean beach of Ternate, it's only near from the Pico de Loro jump off in Ternate Cavite, this is part of Marine Base Training Camp. The entrance fee is only Php100 ($2). No need to rent a cottage since we have our tent from camping.

7# Swimming / Underwater
Enjoy the clean seawater and fine sand of the Katungkulan beach The current and waves are not so strong so you can enjoy your swimming skills.

This is our activity when we go to Pico de Loro, regarding our transportation we just hired a private van that also spent 1 night at the DENR center. It's hard to commute from my observation because I didn't see any jeepney or tricycle, aahh there are some tricycle but it's too costly to rent. So if you are many to go here better bring your own vehicle.

PICO DE LORO - PARROTS BEAK

Pico de Loro was initially named by Spanish seafarers which signifies "Parrot's Beak" as its pointed summit takes after the shape or figure of a parrot's bill from far off and it is generally utilized as a sign via sailors as navigational reference to turn east to get to Manila Narrows.
